How It's Made

At Otto Tiles, the journey of each cement tile begins with contemporary design. We create bold, artistic patterns that fuse heritage with modern expression—designs that tell stories through shape, symmetry, and soul.

Once a design is finalized, our artisans craft the brass mold entirely by hand, heating and bending each strip of brass over an open flame to precisely outline the pattern. This delicate, fiery process requires patience, mastery, and a deep understanding of geometry.

The finished mold becomes the foundation for tile production in our ateliers in Ho Chi Minh and Istanbul, where each tile is poured, layer by layer, using a mixture of white cement, marble powder, and natural pigments. Pressed under a hydraulic press and cured in water—not fired—these tiles emerge with a smooth matte finish, vibrant color depth, and subtle imperfections that mark the human hand behind the work.

Durable, soulful, and rich in character, our cement tiles are a modern homage to craftsmanship. Once dried, each tile boasts a silky matte finish, vibrant color depth, and slight variations that reflect the human touch.

This slow, deliberate process allows us to produce tiles that are not only environmentally friendly but also rich in soul—ideal for spaces that seek timeless character and modern edge.

Product and Sample Orders

Despite our close attention to detail and strict packaging standards, breakages can occasionally occur during delivery. For this reason, we strongly recommend ordering at least 15% more tiles than your net area to allow for possible transit damage and any additional cuts required during installation.

Please note that we do not accept liability for damage, delays, or reshipment fees for orders placed without this recommended buffer. All sample orders are limited to four samples per tile. Orders exceeding this limit may be canceled and refunded.

Trade account holders, architects, designers, and other industry professionals are welcome to request up to 5 free samples by emailing us at info@ottotiles.com

Please note that all samples and showroom displays are intended as a general guide only and should not be considered an exact match to your final order. Due to the nature of our handmade, kiln-fired production process, significant color variation can
occur from batch to batch.

Because tiles are handmade to order, and there is typically a time gap between
sampling and purchase, we cannot guarantee that your final order will be from the same kiln batch as your sample. As a result, the color of the tiles you receive may vary from that of the sample.

Can I collect my order? 

Yes, you can collect your order from our Miami warehouse. Please note that a fulfilment fee applies. Kindly call us in advance to arrange your pickup.

Can I place an order over the phone? 

No, we do not take orders by phone. Please email info@ottotiles.com with the following details:

Do you have a showroom?

Yes, we have a showroom located at 7612 NE 4th Ct, Miami, FL 33138. We’re open

Do you have installation instructions?

Yes. You can find detailed installation and maintenance guides on our website. Please ensure your contractor reviews them prior to installation.

Do you offer installation services? 

No, Otto Tiles does not provide installation services. We strongly recommend hiring an experienced professional familiar with handmade tiles.

Do you work with distributors or dealers? 

No, all orders and services are managed directly by Otto Tiles & Design to ensure quality and consistency.

Does Otto offer a trade program?

Yes, we offer a trade program for interior designers, architects, retailers, and contractors.

Interior designers and architects receive a 20% discount on tile.
Retailers and contractors receive a 10% discount on tile.

Please note the following conditions:

Your order total must be a minimum of $1,000.
Trade discount codes apply to products only, not shipping fees.
Trade discounts cannot be combined with other discount codes.
Discounts do not apply to items already on sale.

How much overage should I order? 

We recommend ordering at least 15% extra to account for cuts, breakage, or future repairs. Due to color variation between batches, this ensures you have matching tiles if you need more later.

Trade discounts apply only to full-priced items. Sale items are excluded unless otherwise specified.

Do you offer free samples?

Yes, we offer up to 5 free samples for interior designers, architects, retailers, and contractors.

How can I order a sample?

The fastest way is to order samples directly through our website. Orders typically ship within 4–10 business days.

How long does it take to deliver samples?

Standard ground shipping takes 4–10 business days.

Will I receive a full-size sample or a cut piece?

Both are available. Sample size is indicated on the product page before checkout.

DELIVERY

Can I change my delivery address or time?

After dispatch, address changes are not guaranteed. If possible, the third-party freight carrier may allow changes starting at $100 per reconsignment.

Will the driver call me upon arrival?

Yes, the freight company will contact you prior to delivery to confirm your time slot.

Do you deliver on weekends?

Standard deliveries are Monday–Friday. Weekend delivery is not available.

Do you ship internationally? 

Yes, we do! For international orders, please email us info@ottotiles.com with your delivery address and the quantity of tiles required, and we’ll provide you with a quote.

What is the delivery time for stock items?

In-stock tiles typically ship within 4–10 business days.

If the tiles are already in transit from our overseas warehouse, the lead time is approximately 6–8 weeks.

If the tiles are scheduled to arrive with an upcoming container, the lead time may be 12–14 weeks.

What happens if I’m not home for delivery? 

Missed appointments can result in re-delivery fees up to $300 or more. You are responsible for any associated costs.

What should I know about shipping?

All deliveries are curbside and require a scheduled appointment. Delivery does not include unpacking or bringing tiles indoors. Make sure someone is present to inspect and sign for the shipment.

Why is shipping so expensive?

Tiles are heavy and fragile. Orders are palletized and shipped via freight to minimize breakage. Each box can weigh 35–50 lbs, and we use shrink wrap and pallets for safety.

When will my tiles be delivered?

Once your order reaches the nearest service center, the freight carrier will contact you to schedule delivery. You must respond within 24 hours to avoid storage fees.

RETURNS & TERMS

Can I return or exchange my tiles? 

Otto Tiles does not accept returns on full tile orders to maintain quality control. Please order samples first to confirm suitability. If a return is approved by exception, all return shipping and restocking costs are the buyer’s responsibility.

How long does it take to receive a refund? 

If a refund is approved, it will be processed once returned items are received, inspected, and confirmed to be in resalable condition.
